Flying from Auckland Airport’s Domestic Terminal and searching for secure, convenient, and affordable parking?
You need to spend hundreds on airport parking. In fact, we don't want you too.
With Parkhero, you can compare and book affordable parking options near the Domestic Terminal in under 3 minutes.
Whether you're seeking the closest parking option or the most affordable, we've got what you need.
Car Park R is the closest car park to Auckland Airport's Domestic Terminal, only a 2-minute walk away via a covered walkway. This car park is ideal for those seeking covered parking and don't mind paying $385 a week for it.
Entry into the car park is by scanning your credit card, not by license plate technology which other car parks have, so be sure you bring your nominated credit card on your day of departure if you pre-booked your spot.
The most affordable car park near the Domestic Terminal at Auckland Airport is Parking Mode & Flypark, as they charge $58.02 - $59.00 for 1 week of parking. They are both a 10- minute shuttle ride from the domestic terminal, and open 24/7 to cater to all flights.
Aeroparks is another affordable choice serving the domestic terminal, it is a bit more expensive than Flypark and Parking Mode, as it costs $73.49 per week, but it is also a 10 - 11-minute drive, and open 24/7.
All of these car parks offer complimentary 24/7 airport transfers.
While Flypark and Parking Mode are the most economical private parking options at Auckland Airport overall, there are two park and ride options that are ideal for budget-conscious travellers who prefer to park on-site: Park and Ride North & South.
Park and Ride North and South are located around 10 - 15 minutes from the Domestic Terminal, charge the same rates, operate from 3:00 a.m. - 11:37 p.m, and have shuttle transfers that run every 10 - 12 minutes to and from the terminal. These car parks are fully uncovered.
Because the shuttle services for these car parks are not on-demand, so waiting and queuing may be required. You can find the domestic transfer bus outside of the domestic terminal at Bus Stop C.
To enter Park & Ride North, you must have your nominated credit or debit card used to pre-book your spot to scan at the entry gate. If you didn't pre-book, simply scan your card at the gate to enter, and again to exit.
Park & Ride South is equipped with license plate recognition software, so no card is needed to enter nor exit. If you pre-booked your spot, your vehicle plate will be recognised upon entry, and if you overstayed your parking duration, you can pay the balance at the exit.
The domestic terminal has a single valet parking service, located a 1 - 2 minute walk from the terminal. Parking here means you can choose from covered or uncovered parking, as well as a range of car washing and detailing services.
Uncovered valet parking rates start at $75 for 1 day, $240 for 4 days, and $44 per day thereafter. Covered valet parking, on the other hand, is $79 for 1 day, $259 for 4 days, and $45 per day thereafter.
For immediate pick-up and drop-off of travellers, use the domestic terminals' forecourt, either in the blue zone or the red zone. Be aware that drivers can not turn off or exit their vehicles while parked here.
For those looking for more time, head to Wait Zone 2, located off Geoffrey Roberts Road. This is one of the three wait zones available for 30 minutes of free parking, and it's the closest to the domestic terminal, being only a 4-minute drive away.
Another alternative is Wait Zone 1, off George Bolt Memorial Drive, though it's not as conveniently located as Wait Zone 2.
While the international terminal has two designated short-term car parks, the Domestic Terminal does not.
Fortunately, we've taken the stress out of comparing the best options for short-stay parking and found that Car Park M and O are the best options, as they combine proximity and affordability for stays of a few hours, up to a day.
Car Park M is located only a 2 - 3 minute walk from the Domestic Terminal, while Car Park O is a 3 - 5 minute walk.
Car Park O must be pre-booked before arrival and is fully uncovered, while drive-up bookings are accepted at Car Park M, and it offers both covered & uncovered parking bays.
You can expect to pay $19 for parking up to an hour at both car parks, and $5 for each hour thereafter at Car Park O, but $8 per hour thereafter at Car Park M.
For 24-hour stays, Car Park O charges $59, while Car Park M charges $62.
Looking for the cheapest car park near the domestic terminal without compromising safety or convenience?
The cheapest car parks at Auckland Airport serving the international terminal are Parking Mode & Flypark, as they charge $58- $59 for 1 week of parking. Due to their low rates and tiered pricing, these are the best car parks for long-term parking.
Both of these car parks are only a 10-minute ride from the domestic terminal and operate 24/7, so they will pick you up and drop you off outside the terminal at all hours.
Parking for a maximum of a few hours - 1 day?
Consider Car Park M or O. They offer reasonable short-term parking rates for their proximity to the domestic terminal.
Both car parks charge $19 for 1 hour of parking, and then Car Park M gets slightly more expensive. After 2 hours of parking, rates increase to $5 per hour at Car Park O, and $8 per hour at Car Park M.
For 24 hours of parking, Car Park O charges $59, while Car Park M is $62. At 3 days, rates are $131 at Car Park O and $30 per day thereafter, while 3-day stays at Car Park M are $153, and $40 per day thereafter.
Looking to park at the cheapest on-site car park?
Consider Park at Park & Ride North or South, they charge the same rates of $95 for 1 week of parking, are a 10 - 15 minute shuttle ride to the terminal.
These car parks are owned and operated by Auckland Airport, so they don't offer on-demand shuttle services. As a result, be aware that you will likely have to wait and/or queue for the terminal shuttle.
Prefer covered parking?
Car Park R or M are your best options! Car Park R is fully covered, while Car Park M offers covered parking subject to availability. Both car parks are located a 2 - 3 minute walk from the Domestic Terminal.
Parking here costs $353 - $386 per week, with Car Park R being the more expensive option.
Seeking ultimate parking convenience, and not worried about the cost?
Consider the domestic valet service, located right outside the terminal doors. You can choose from covered or uncovered parking, car washing services, and even mobility valet-style parking with an accessibility buggy available.
