Park and Ride, 21 Ron Guthrey Road, Christchurch Airport, Christchurch 8053, New Zealand
Christchurch Airport's Park and Ride is the most affordable on-site car park at Christchurch Airport. It is the ideal car park for budget-conscious travellers who don't mind a 10-minute complimentary shuttle ride to the terminal. The shuttle departs from the open-air car park every 10 minutes.
While it is the furthest car park from the terminal, if you're planning to park for 4+ days, the Park and Ride Car Park may be a great option to consider, especially if you'd rather save on parking to spend more on your trip.
We show you the same price as the car parks themselves, and don't add additional reservation costs!
Drive to the car park and park your car in the drop-off zone or, depending on the service, park your car yourself.
Catch one of the regular shuttle buses to the airport terminal. Some buses also run on demand. Buses take between 5 and 15 minutes to reach the terminal.
Catch the bus at the terminal or nearby and you will be taken back to the car park.
Collect your car at the pick-up zone and drive home.
Upon arrival at the Park and Ride Car Park, the licence plate reader will detect your licence plate number, automatically raising the barrier arm for entry and exit from the car park - no ticket is required.
If the barrier arm doesn’t open, simply tap or insert the credit or debit card you used for your booking. Should this not resolve the issue, press the HELP button for assistance.
If you didn't pre-book your spot, you can tap or insert your credit card at the entry gate. After parking your vehicle, head to the bus stop, located within the car park.
After collecting your luggage, head outside at the terminal to Door 1. This is where the shuttle will arrive to take you back to the car park. After retrieving your vehicle, drive up to the exit barrier. If you pre-booked your parking spot and stayed within your planned duration, the barrier will automatically lift for you. If you exceed your parking time, you can settle the payment using a credit card at the gate. For those who didn’t pre-book, just scan the credit card you used to enter at the exit to leave.
If you need to pay at a payment machine before returning to your car, you can find them at the locations below. All payment machines take credit cards, Eftpos and PayWave.
